Insights from the Leadership Conference of Women Religious
The JPIC Office is also grateful for the work of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), for their frequently received brief alerts that address many of the above issues. LCWR held a gathering in Tucson, Arizona to address more effective ways to advocate for social concerns using a theory called U. This theory emphasizes: 1) the quality of our observations, 2) being present to who we are and what God is asking of us in a given situation, and then 3) creating a better future through the effectiveness of this presence. Sr. Sheila along with 43 other religious women found the experience very profitable. For more information please go to www.presencing.com for executive summaries. Sr. Barbara Stanbridge, IHM, the excellent facilitator for this event.
